WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

We only use Allergan products, namely Botox and Juvederm.

WHAT IS FILLER?

It is a natural sugar called hyaluronic acid, which forms a scaffolding for collagen to be laid down. Hyaluronic acid exists in the human body but it is broken down through the ageing process.

HOW LONG DOES FILLER LAST?

Filler can last up to 2 years in some people.

A good average would be 12-18 months.

WHAT IS BOTOX?

It is a purified form of a Botulinum toxin from a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum.

HOW LONG DOES BOTOX LAST?

Botox lasts up to 16 weeks on average, depending on how much is used, the site injected and the fitness level of the client. Physically fit individuals tend to lose the effects more quickly.

IS BOTOX A POISON AND WILL IT MAKE ME SICK?

Although it is a toxin, it only works where it is injected so it is not absorbed into the rest of the body. It will not make you sick.

WHEN WILL BOTOX START TO WORK?

Generally you may start to notice effects within 3-4 days, although it can take up to 2 weeks for the full effect to be visible.

WHEN WILL THE FILLER BE NOTICEABLE?

Filler is noticeable directly after it has been injected. The effect that can be seen on the day is not a full reflection of the final outcome. The following day you may appear more swollen in the area, as the body will draw fluid to that region. This swelling will go down within a day or two. The body will then slowly start to build onto the area that has been injected so that the appearance continues to improve over the following few weeks.

WILL I BRUISE?

While every effort is made to limit the possibility of bruising, it can happen. We apply ice to the proposed injection sites prior to treatment. This is done in an effort to reduce blood supply to the region and reduce the likelihood of bruising.

WILL I GET A HEADACHE FROM BOTOX?

Some people do experience a headache when having Botox through the forehead and central frown area, especially for the first time. It is not possible to predict if this will happen.

CAN BOTOX HELP HEADACHES?

Yes, it is useful for some people when injected across the forehead and into the central frown.

CAN I EXERCISE AFTER INJECTABLES?

It is generally advisable not to undertake rigorous cardiovascular exercise within 24 hours of Botox injections. This is not the case with filler.

CAN I TOUGH MY FACE?

If you do need to touch your face (on the day of injections), ensure that it is only a light brushing motion directed away from the eyes. You can wash your face and shower or swim directly after having the injections.

CAN I TOUCH MY FACE AFTER FILLER?

CAN I LIE DOWN AFTER HAVING INJECTABLES

Generally, you should keep your head up for 4 hours after having Botox injections and avoid lying on the area injected with filler for the first 24 hours.

You need to massage the areas that have been injected with filler. This helps to spread the product more smoothly into the area and avoid any lumpiness from developing. This is especially important with lips. It is advisable to continue using ice throughout the day that filler is injected and to massage the area gently for a few minutes every day for at least a week.

HOW MUCH WILL I NEED?

You will be asked what area of your face is worrying you and what budget you have in mind. The doctor will then work out how many units of Botox you need or how much filler you need and a price will be calculated.

HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MUCH IT WILL COST?

You will be given a quote before injectables are given.

WHAT IF I DECIDE NOT TO HAVE INJECTABLES ON THE DAY OF MY CONSULTATION?

There is no obligation to go ahead with injectables. You will be charged a standard consultation fee, which does not attract a Medicare rebate, unless you are also seeing the doctor for a medical reason.
