If you are feeling unwell and believe you are at risk of having contracted COVID-19, call the QLD Health Information line on 13HEALTH (13 432584) or the National Coronavirus Helpline on 1800 020 080 to discuss your symptoms and risk.

Have you or your immediate family travelled from a hot spot in the last 14 days?

In some circumstances, as outlined by Queensland Health you MUST ISOLATE for 14 days as per border crossing and entry requirements.

Have you had close contact with someone who has been confirmed to have Coronavirus? (Close contact is considered 15 minutes or more)

If you are experiencing ANY cold or flu like symptoms, no matter how mild and the answer to either of the above questions is YES - Immediately self-isolate and present to a COVID testing facility.

Testing facilities can be located: https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/stay-informed/testing-and-fever-clinics#testing-centre-map

Do you have cold or flu like symptoms and need medical attention?

A staff member will triage you and decide from there whether it is safe for you to enter the practice or whether a phone consultation is an option (This service is only for registered patients who have had a face-to-face consultation at this practice within the past 12 months and there may be a private fee incurred).

ALL PATIENTS VISITING THE HUB:

You are still required to wear a mask.

If you are not fully vaccinated at the time of your appointment you will need to call from your car on arrival.

We do ask that you only arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time, to avoid unnecessary congestion within the waiting area.

Upon entry please use the antiseptic alcohol foam provided.

Please try and keep some space between yourself and others. Touch as little as possible.

The patient/client and one carer/parent is preferred at a time to limit the number of people in the practice. Please encourage other family members to wait outside the practice if possible.

IMMUNISATIONS:

We will NOT be eligible to offer our patients the Covid-19 vaccine from here.

To check if you can receive your Covid-19 vaccine yet and to see nearby locations where you can have the vaccine please complete the online eligibility checker by following this link https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility

ASTHMA & LUNG DISEASES:

Patients with asthma or lung diseases should be reviewed regularly and have a plan in place to optimise lung health.

PRESCRIPTIONS:

We encourage patients to have a sensible supply of prescription medications to get you through 2-3 weeks in case you are required to self-isolate.  We cannot guarantee that our Doctors will be available to write prescriptions at short notice if you have run out. It is your responsibility to ensure you have sufficient supply of ALL medications and to book a follow up appointment for your next script renewal.

PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE AND INFECTION CONTROL:

Regularly wash your hands and avoid touching your face, eyes, mouth and nose, particularly when in public spaces.

BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATIONS:

It is very important that you do not change or stop taking your current blood pressure medications. In fact, it is more dangerous for you to stop them. Ensure to seek medical attention by booking a consultation with your regular GP as soon as possible to discuss future medications and safety precautions.
